Epifacial™ Resurfacing

Epifacial™ is an innovative, patented technology that allows us to customize treatments specifically for your skin. Epifacial™ uses intense pulse light to rejuvenate skin and diminish hyperpigmentation, facial vessels, rosacea, and other discolorations in the skin.
Time: 60 minutes

As most of us age, we begin to see visible signs of sun damage, time, and lifestyle choices appearing in our complexion. This aged look may include: freckles, Rosacea, wrinkles, broken capillaries, dark spots, redness of the face and neck, enlarged pore size and uneven pigmentation.

The Epifacial™ is a non-ablative photo skin rejuvenation technique designed to produce younger and healthier looking skin. The Epifacial™ uses Intense Pulsed Light, which stimulates subsurface remodeling, encouraging fibroblast activity and increased collagen deposition.

Who are the candidates for this treatment?

Most people, including children, may be treated. However, a consultation by a dermatologist or other trained professional certified to perform Epifacial™ is necessary to determine if your condition is suitable for the treatments.

What is involved in Epifacial™ treatments?

Treatment involves a pulsed light, similar to the flash of a camera. You will feel a slight pinch or snap of a rubber band. No local anesthesia or pain medication is required. Immediately following a treatment, the skin may appear more red and flushed and the brown spots generally appear slightly darker. Over the next several days, the brown spots increase in their color, and then subsequently fade over the next few days.

Are there side effects?

You may experience some short-term side effects including; slight reddening of the skin or local swelling. This usually goes away within a few days. In rare instances there may be some blistering which could result in scarring.

How many treatments are required?

Many individuals experience dramatic results after only 1-2 treatments; however in most cases four treatments are needed for optimal results. Retreatments may be required as the need arises.

Will insurance cover my treatment?

In most cases insurance will not cover Epifacial™. There are a few exceptions and our staff will inform you of these.

Are there restrictions on my activity after treatment?

You can return to work the same day and resume all regular activities. You should limit exposure to the sun, and sun block is highly recommended.

Epifacial™ is an innovative patented technology that allows your doctor to customize the treatment specifically for your skin type and state of photoaging.
